The first step that I took was backing up the files and Database so i can move it to the Development Server. I choose my linux web server to do the development on. The server is a simple Ubuntu web server /ssh with a base install config. The only changes I made to the server were to set up clean URLs, install phpmyadmin and ftp. Hello all,

This is my first post on redesigning a Drupal website. The website that I will be redesigning is www.greatmich.com. The site is already built in Drupal but needs many improvements. There is already a good size user base but lacks the community feel that it should have.

The mission is to redesign the site to provide more of that community feel along with some added cool features. I plan to take you through every step of the process in hopes that you might be able to use some of the information that I provide on you own site.
